He lives directly opposite the church. 他住在教堂的正对面。
3. 在英国英语中，既可表示立即、马上，也可表示不久以后。如：
Come here directly. 马上过来。
I will be there directly. 我很快就到。
在没有特定上下文的情况下，可能有歧义。如：
I will start directly. 我马上动身(或:我不久将动身)。
4. 在英国英语中，可用作连词(＝as soon as)。如：
I went home directly I had finished work. 我一干完工作就回家了。
