7.affordable adj.买得起的；担负碍起的；担得起…风险的
【例】The government provided some affordable housings for the citizens.

【辨】approachable, payable, affordable，approachable的意思是“可接近的，平易近人的”；payable的意思是“应付的，可支付的”；affordable的意思是“买得起的，担负得起的”。

8.prevent V．阻止，防止
【记】词根记忆：pre(预先)+vent(来)--提前来挡住别人--阻止
【例】prevent sb．/sth. from The medicine would prevent the flu from reaching you.
这种药会防止你得流感。
【用】prevent sb. from doing sth.意思是“阻止某人做某事”．prevent sth. from意思是“阻止某事发生”。
【派】prevention(n．阻止，防止，预防)
【辨】prevent, refrain, resist, restrain四个词都有“阻止，抑制”的意思。prevent强调预先阻止，常用句式为prevent sb. from doing sth.；refrain表示努力抑制，有制止的含义；resist侧重抵抗；restrain则表示限制或约束某人的行动，如：restraining one's curiosity.
