【用】attain最常见的搭配是attain one's goal，表示“达到某种目的”。
【辨】attain．accomplish, attain通常指通过努力而达到预定的目的，如：He attained the position of manager; accomplish强调完成了既定的任务，也可以指出色地做成某事。

【辨】obtain, grasp, catch, make四个词都有“得到，获得”的意思。obtain强调经过某种努力获得需要的东西或达到目的；grasp多指“抓住，把握，领会”；catch指经过追捕之后获取，强调获得前的行动；make表示通过工作等得到，如：make money。
