人生七阶

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players.

大千世界是个舞台，所有男男女女不过是戏子。

They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts.

他们各有登场和退场，而每个人的一生也扮演着许多不同的角色。

At first the infant, mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.

首先是婴儿，在奶妈怀中啼哭着，呕吐着。

Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel and shining morning face.

其次是背着书包、满面晨光，喜欢发牢骚的学生。

And then the lover, sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad.

然后是情人，像熔炉一般叹息，唱着忧伤的歌谣。

Then a soldier, full of strange oaths, and bearded like the pard, seeking the bubble reputation even in the cannon's mouth.

随后是士兵，满是古怪的誓言，蓄着胡须，甚至连火炮口也不怕去寻求那泡沫般的名声。

And then the justice, in fair round belly with good capon lined, full of wise saws and modern instances.

然后是中年大腹便便，身材圆润的体型，多的是所谓感悟智慧的格言和历经岁月的经验。

The sixth age shifts into the lean and slippered pantaloon.

第六阶段，是被岁月雕刻出瘦削的，穿拖鞋的傻老头。

With spectacles on nose and pouch on side, his youthful hose, well saved, a world so wide......

鼻上架着眼镜，腰间挂着烟袋。年轻时保存良好的长裤套在瘦瘪的腿上显得宽又荡......
