Tufting
Tuftingis the way soft, fluffy rugs are often made. This textile weaving technique is a midpoint between a shaggy carpet and embroidery.
中文把它翻译成“簇绒”, 更通俗的方法也叫它“戳戳绣”。
它本来是用来制作地毯或者说保暖服装的一种传统工艺，其实跟咱们中国北方一种叫“墩绣”的传统工艺有异曲同工之妙。
简单来说，它是综合了这种毛绒地毯和刺绣的手工活动。
You're basically weaving the design into a shaggy carpet. With your yarn as your ink, you can draw textured patterns and pictures on a plain canvas.
You can do this either by hand using a punch needle, or with a really cool tufting gun.
“戳戳绣”的过程就是在一块底布上先画好草图, 然后用毛线把图案戳上去。

其实以前tufting主要是在工厂里制作毛绒地毯的一种工艺，而现在大火是因为2018年一位DIY艺术家在网上开始建立起tufting社群，而他使用的就是一款简单的电动簇绒枪。

But a few years back, a DIY artist Tim Eads started a tufting community online.
He was using a more user friendly tufting gun, the one that you can buy and actually use at home.
