当你fight tooth and nail的时候，意思是说你很努力的争取了。
You try your best to win and don't give up.
你尽你最大的努力去赢取了，而且没有放弃。
Animals in the wild use their teeth and nails when they fight.
野生动物在打斗时会使用它们的牙齿和指甲。
When using this idiom though, make sure and keep it singular.
在使用这个习语时，要确保是单数形式。
We don't say, "to fight teeth and nails."
我们不会说to fight teeth and nails。
