After multiple cases of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 catching on fire, the company is rolling out software on December 19 making any note 7 unusable.

In a statement, Samsung said, To further increase participation, a software update will be released starting on December 19that will prevent U.S. Galaxy Note 7 devices from charging and will eliminate their ability to work as mobile devices.

Samsung says While more than 93 percent of Galaxy Note 7 phones have been returned, but the remaining 7 percent still have a serious fire risk.
