Here are four animal societies run by strong females.

Number one. Elephants.
第一种 大象
Baby elephants are born into a large herd, consisting of many mothers and their calves.
象宝宝出生时，象群规模很大，有很多象妈妈和小象。
The herd is led by the oldest female who knows the landscape, and decides where and when everyone travels.
象群的领导者是最年长的雌象，因为它熟悉周围环境，能够决定大家往哪里迁徙，什么时候迁徙。
The babies are communally raised by all of the females.
象宝宝由所有的雌象公养。
At puberty, the male elephants leave the herd to wander the savanna alone or with groups of other males.
到性成熟时，雄象会离开象群，单独或结伴在草原上游荡。

Number two. The ringed tail lemur.
第二种 环尾狐猴
These small primates live in medium-sized groups, consisting of both males and females.
这种灵长类动物，体型很小，种群规模中等，种群内既有雄猴也有雌猴。
Both sexes have core dominant groups, but the overall leader is the top-ranked female.
小群团的头头有雄猴也有雌猴，但是整个猴群的领导者是地位最高的雌猴。
The lemur queen asserts her authority by fighting other wannabes, and as such, she decides the direction of the whole group.
它展示权威的办法是和其他觊觎它地位的雌猴打斗，通过这种方式，它掌控了整个猴群。
Number three. Bonobos.
第三种 倭黑猩猩
While the males are still dependent on their mothers, even through adulthood, the fairer bonobo sex must seek out other tribes and make new friends with other females.

This creates strong womanhood bonds within the group.

As a result, the females usually eat first when food is found, and the less social males eat last.

Number four. Spotted hyenas.

Clans of hyenas are strongly dominated by females, and social standing is inherited from the mother.

The male hyenas do most of the hunting,

but the females feed first with their cubs, while the males get the scraps.

Scientists believe the matriarchal hyena society is due to the cubs of aggressive females having higher chances of survival.
