Cafferkey reportedly was working for Save the Children in Sierra Leone. More than 7,800 people have been killed by the deadly virus, mostly in West Africa. Authorities say Cafferkey was diagnosed at an early stage and her risk to others is extremely low, but her contacts are being investigated.

Navalny was sentenced to house arrest earlier in the day for embezzlement. His brother was sentenced to three and a half years in a case seen as part of a campaign to stifle dissent. Government opponents say jailing Navalny, who led protests against President Vladimir Putin three years ago, could trigger a new wave of protest.

Ferry stricken by blaze fully evacuated, 10 dead
起火船只幸存者获救

]rtBKTC.qsF9

After more than 24 hours of battling the cold, winds and fear, more than 400 survivors were rescued from the burning ferry in the Adriatic. Now in the darkness, these passengers exhausted finally stand on firm ground for the first time since a fire broke out on the Norman Atlantic on Sunday. They had been winched away by helicopter and transferred to nearby ships. Ten people were killed in the disaster but the number of missing is still unclear. Officials say there were 478 people on the ferry travelling from Patras in Greece to Ancona in Italy. Many families got separated during the rescue but most appeared to maintain their humour. The airlift has finished and the captain was the last to leave his ship. For these survivors the ordeal is over but their questions remain about why the European ferry caught alight and killed fellow passengers.

Brandishing sticks, isolated indigenous tribe members gesture and yell as they approach a residential community in Peru's Amazon region.Residents have been evacuated following what was deemed an attack by the Mashco Piro tribe who were demanding food and supplies, authorities say. Guillermo Bardiles videotaped the Monte Salvado Community under attack. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) MONTE SALVADO COMMUNITY MEMBER, GUILLERMO BARDALES (WHO SHOT IMAGES OF COMMUNITY AFTER ATTACK), SAYING: "They were already entering the community, pointing arrows. Then I got scared but as we understand them, I told them to not throw arrows at us because they hurt. They understood and put their arrows down and another few entered all over and others were entering from above, they had practically surrounded the village. The only thing to do was to escape." Peru's Vice-Minister of Intercultural Affairs Patricia Balbuena. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) PERU'S VICE-MINISTER OF INTERCULTURAL AFFAIRS,PATRICIA BALBUENA, SAYING: "We did not know until that moment, the gravity or number of settlers in isolation that were surrounding the community and indeed how the village was being affected. Those two points, led us to - with the community itself - decide to evacuate." But this isn't the first time an indigenous community has launched such an attack. In May, a tribe was reported to have raided a tourist lodge for metal pots.

中国经济特区创造经济奇迹

zE58MYDX^Khhj8A.

The setting up of special economic zones was one of the most important reforms enacted by the government, as part of the decision to open up the economy. These are zones where foreign investors enjoy many preferential policies. In the past three decades, these special economic zones have created economic miracles that are envied by the world.

In 1980, the State Council approved the establishment of the Shenzhen SEZ in Guangdong Province, the first of its kind in China. Once a small fishing village, the Shenzhen SEZ has evolved into a metropolis and is also the birthplace of many high-tech enterprises. Cities in China's Eastern Provinces like Zhuhai, Shantou and Xiamen were also approved for the setting up of SEZs. Eight years later, the entire province of Hainan was designated as China's largest special economic zone.

Meanwhile, China opened 14 other cities to overseas investment in 1984. Most of the cities were located along China's east coastal regions. As a result, China's economy has regained vitality and the rapid development of the national economy has also enhanced the country 's overall strength and raised the people's standard of living.
