Former Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee, who oversaw the paper's coverage of the Watergate scandal that toppled President Richard Nixon, died Tuesday at age 93, the newspaper said. As executive editor from 1968 until 1991, Bradlee became one of the most important figures in Washington, as well as journalism history. The paper said Bradlee died at his home in Washington of natural causes.

Oscar Pistorius sentenced to five years in prison

Olympian Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to five years in prison for the shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Pistorius stood when the sentence was read.

Count one: (PISTORIUS IN VISION) culpable homicide. The sentence imposed is five years of imprisonment imposed in terms of section 2761-I of the Criminal Procedure Act, Number 51 of 1977.

For dozens of families in the Iraqi town of Qara Tappa, just over an hour's drive north of the capitol Baghdad, it's finally time to say goodbye. Islamic State militants reportedly launched a wide scale attack on the town Monday and are advancing closer in. Residents are alarmed by what lies ahead.

Some 600 separatist sympathizers watch as the flag of this rebel stronghold rises over Lenin square -- on this, the region's first 'Flag Day'. (SOUNDBITE) SELF-PROCLAIMED DONETSK PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC LEADER, ALEXANDER ZAKHARCHENKO, SAYING: "We all will remember this day. Today the liberation of our land begins." Eastern Ukraine is living out a shaky ceasefire between pro-Russian rebels and government troops, in an armed uprising that began in March and has killed over 3,700 people. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) DONETSK RESIDENT, NADEZHDA, SAYING: "I am happy that we are starting to get out of this situation gradually. And that despite all of these (things) the people are living and being happy." The scene was anything but happy in another part of Donetsk, where shelling the day before killed four people and injured nine others. This district is a short drive from the international airport...the site of a protracted stand-off between rebels and government forces, despite the ceasefire. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) DONETSK RESIDENT, DMITRY, SAYING: "They have been shelling and continue shelling here….They hit the school and this apartment block. What kind of ceasefire is that?" After months of fighting, many Ukrainians have become radicalized by this conflict that has brought death and hardship to homes across the country. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko discussed the crisis during talks in Italy. But little progress was was made to stop the violence.

An office at the Coast and Country Housing Association headquarters in Redcar, of the 11 people in today, 9 are aged 20 to 34, and 4 of them are still living at home with their parents. It's becoming a national issue. In England alone, a quarter of young workers, almost two million people, have yet to move out to a place of their own. The figures are much higher in some areas, including Castle Point, Essex, Knowsley on Merseyside and Solihull. And almost half of them blame a lack of affordable housing.
-These figures show us two things. Large numbers of young working people are living with their parents, and most of them don't want to.The government says it is addressing the issue with the Help to Buy scheme and more Affordable Homes（.Lewis Thompson is one of those who isbenefiting.
-I'm 26 years old, so I've been saving up many many years now. Only reason I was able to get a house is I managed to get one with 5% deposit.If it wasn't for that, I literally wouldn't be able to move out.
Of the two older workers in this office, one has a 30-year-old son, working and living at home.
-That means basically that at the moment I can't retire, because we have to provide a larger property in order for him to have his own room, to have his own space. And as such we can't downsize.
The homeless charity Shelter says we are creating a "Clipped Wing Generation".
-We've seen a large rise, particularly in recent years, in the number of young adults living at home with their parents. It's now one in four. What we are saying is that young adults, in fact, the offer（？） is you can work hard, you can save hard, but you can still be living as a teenager in your childhood bedroom, and that's because frankly we just haven't been building enough affordable homes, and that's whatpoliticians really got to focus on [that].
