Theater grenade attack kills at least 5 in Pakistan

Officials are investigating a deadly grenade attack in a movie theater in Pakistan. Police say unidentified attackers hurled two grenades into a Peshawar theater during the screening of a film.

Three explosions rock Yemeni capital Sanaa

This was the scene in the Yemeni capital Sanaa overnight. Three large explosions rocked the Hadda district, reportedly injuring at least four people. Residents say all three blasts happened near security targets - the defense ministry, the central bank and the home of the former president. With daylight, neighbors took in the damage to their district.

The U.S. ally is struggling to stabilize itself in the face of an increasing breakdown in security.

Beijing Temple Fairs attract thousands
春节北京庙会吸引数十万游客
Thousands of people have been flooding into temples in Beijing to be a part of on-going temple fairs in the city. The fairs,also known as "Miaohui," are one of China’s biggest celebratory events during the Spring Festival Holiday.
In the first three days of the week-long holiday, the 21 main tourist sites of Beijing have seen more than 1 million visitors. That’s one and a half times more than last year.
Among the most popular landmarks have been Ditan Park and Longtan Park, where the temple fairs attracted a total of 276-thousand visitors on Sunday. Thousands of handicrafts and varieties of food are on display.
Traditional performances are also a star attraction for everyone. Ditan Park began holding temple fairs in 1985. The Park is the original site of the Temple of Earth where ancient Chinese emperors offered sacrifices to the God of Earth.
The organizer of this year’s temple fair estimates that more than one million people are expected to visit Ditan Park by Thursday, the last day of the Temple Fair.

Chinese weather authorities have issued this year’s first alert against a cold wave.
In the following two days, heavy wind and a drop in temperature are expected in areas in the north of the Yangtze River and its middle and lower reaches. The temperature is estimated to drop by six to ten degrees Celsius.
In parts of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and north and northeast China, the temperature is expected to drop by fourteen degrees Celsius. Foggy weather in most parts of China will also continue. In north and southwest China, visibility is expected to stays at two hundred meters.
