第三十三 孩子最悲伤的事

"Oh! call my brother back to me!

“噢！把我哥哥叫回来吧！

I cannot play alone;

我不能一个人玩耍；

The summer comes with flower and bee—

夏天到了，花儿开了，蜜蜂也开始工作了——

Where is my brother gone?

我哥哥去哪了？

The flowers run wild, the flowers we sowed

花开在野地里，那是我们

Around our garden tree;

在庭院树周围播下的种子；

Our vine is drooping with its load—

我们种的葡萄已经硕果累累——

Oh! call him back to me!"—

"He would not hear thy voice, fair child!

The face that once like spring-time smiled,

Go—thou must play alone, my boy!

Thy brother is in Heaven."—
