Nowadays, a hot and important controversy is about whether to pursue ambitious dreams orto focus on realistic goals. It's common that young people are easy to get excited with the dream, but I insist that people should focus on realist goals. My reasons willbepresented as the followings.
First of all, people has a misunderstanding about the so called 'success scienc'. The truth is that most people can never achieve those ambitious dreams because they lack thenecessary background and human resources. In recent years, the books so called success sience' have been becoming a popular 'science' in the society which creat an illusion that everyone can achieve any dream if they want.There books often include the stories ofthose success people but neglect many important details about their true background and human sources. It is safe to say that to achieve ambitious dreams, the background and human sources as well as the fortune are much more important than a person's effort, because common people can hardly have the opportunity to stand on the high platform no matter how hard they try.
Besides, it’s very well to possess an ambitious dream, but any ambitious dream is composed of small realistic goals. Only if we overcome those small ones can us possible to achieve bigger ones. For example, if someone wants to climb on the top of Everest, the person has to overcome smaller mountains first, otherwise, he or she may not have the physical ability to climb the everest.
Finally, it’s dangerous to pursue the ambitious dreams at the very beginning without considering the real situation，because people will definitely confront the frustration and easily lose confidence forever.
In conclusion, it makes more sense to focus on realistic goals instead of ambitious dreams for common people. And step by step, people can achieve great goals some day.
