Have a prayer是“对某事心存希望，祈祷某事成真”的意思，那么此处否定形式就是“希望落空，没有希望”的意思。如果某人don't have a prayer,那就是说就算求上帝也帮不上忙，可见形势相当糟糕，希望渺茫。如:She is now forty,and doesn't have a prayer of getting married.她现在40岁了，已经没希望出嫁了。
