在这一段简短的演讲辞中用到了很多以less结尾的单词。比如，被撞碎的彗星在大气层里burned harmlessly. Harm, 伤害，harmless无害的，再加上副词词缀ly，就可以用来修饰动词了。随后说Millions were lost. Countless more left homeless. Millions, Millions of people的缩略形式，上百万的人失踪了。Countless more，count数数，计数，countless无法计数的，无法计算的。也就是还有更多数不清的人是homeless的。Homeless, 无家可归的。
