Do you agree or disagree: people would meet many problems in their daily life and they would solve them by themselves or from the help of their families; the help from the government is not necessary?

There would be many problems in our daily life and how to solve them becomes a concerned topic by the public. Some people may argue that people are able to solve them on their own. However, from my perspective, it would be necessary to turn to the government for solutions in most cases.
Firstly, when it comes to environmental pollution, it could only be resolved with the help of the government. Specifically speaking, so limited is the power of ordinary individuals that they are not capable of offering effective solutions. For instance, haze has gradually become a spectacular symbol of Beijing in winter and it causes huge trouble for citizens. However, people can do nothing but wear the mask and still go to work, exposed to a foggy world. Luckily, the government noticed the great harm done by the air pollution in last several years and launched a series of policies to prevent the decrease of air quality. Banning vehicles, shutting down those factories discharging chemical pollutants and calling upon its citizens to reduce the consumption of fuel are all put in effect by the government, playing a significant role in shaping a better environment. Haze started to go away last year. Also, global warming is a huge threat to human beings because of various unwanted consequences, such as rising seal level and climatic change. However, ordinary citizens cannot do anything to prevent power plant from burning coals to generate electricity and keep factories from discharging pollutants into water. Only by investing to the research of new energy can those environmental problems be resolved. Obviously, the government should take the responsibility of reducing environmental pollution.
Secondly, as for traffic jams, common individuals are also unable to stop them from happening. Though some people might say people can change their way of traveling from driving private vehicles to using public transportation tools, such a social problem still remains unresolved. The most effective solution is to develop public transportation system. For instance, with the investment from the government, roads can be widened and more overpasses can be built to satisfy the demand of more vehicles. Also, the service quality of public transportation still needs to be raised by the government. Many citizens are reluctant to take bus or subway primarily because of the long waiting line during rush hours and extremely limited space on the bus or subway. Apparently, it would be a practical solution for the government to increase bus or subway lines to solve the need of such a huge number of passengers every day. Additionally, what the government is most favor of is to limit the number of automobiles according to the license plate number and that also plays a part in reducing traffic pressure. Therefore, traffic congestion is another daily issue that could only be resolved by the government.
Admittedly, some people might insist on the fact there are at least many things that should be resolved by themselves. For instance, children are addicted to vide games and parents should prevent their children from developing those unfortunate behaviors. It appears to be sensible, however, the government can, actually, take some actions to avoid such a behavior. For example, the government can issue relative laws and regulations to force IT companies to install some programs to limit the time consumed by children on those video games designed by them. Glory of King, a popular game among teenagers, would stop children from logging on if they spend more than 2 hours on the game. Therefore, under most circumstances, individuals should trust and turn to the government for help since it is the government's responsibility to resolve what might trouble us.
In a word, turning to the government is necessary in most cases. As is discussed above, environmental pollution, traffic jam and even education all need to be dependent on the government.
