也许很多歌迷还记得在2005年度“美国偶像”决赛中，“偶像”冠军Carrie Underwood（凯莉·安德伍）和亚军Bo Bice（波·拜斯）都分别演唱了一首“Inside your heaven”。

今年2月份，Carrie Underwood凭借一首“Jesus,take the wheel”，荣获第49届格莱美最佳乡村女歌手奖。而在今年年初美国《公告牌》杂志公布的2006年度Billboard 200专辑榜中，Carrie Underwood又凭借处女作专辑“Some Hearts”荣登2006年美国唱片市场的年度销量冠军。
与走乡村路线的Carrie Underwood相比，风格相当明确的摇滚歌手Bo Bice似乎要背运一些。当年，两位美国偶像在决赛当晚演唱“Inside your heaven”时，相当一部分现场观众都认为是Bo Bice的唱功更为收放自如。只是，观众投票最终还是把“偶像”桂冠戴在了形象清纯的邻家女孩Carrie Underwood头上。
在两人随后的处女专辑发行业绩上，Bo Bice再次在“比赛”中败在Carrie Underwood之下。2005年，Carrie Underwood推出个人首张专辑“Some Hearts”之后，Bo Bice也推出了自己的第一张专辑“The Real Thing”。虽然该专辑在发行后第一周的销量名列当周Billboard 200专辑榜第四位，但还是比Carrie Underwood的“Some Hearts”首周销量排名低了两位。

相比而言，Bo Bice那张堪称“摇滚”阵容强大的“The Real Thing”就有点言过其实了。从专辑开场曲“The Real Thing”开始，歌迷听到的歌曲就跟其他当代流行乐专辑没什么两样。尽管嗓音条件巨佳的Bo Bice在专辑中依然表现巨佳，但这张流行摇滚专辑实在“流行”的显示不出Bo Bice最为骄傲的高音特长，难免会让Bo Bice的乐迷失望。
