France sets new energy ban to cut waste

法国规定商店开空调期间须关紧门窗

The French government is set to order all air-conditioned shops to keep their doors closed and switch off lights overnight, in a bid to cut energy waste.

为了减少能源浪费，法国下令所有装有空调的商店在开空调期间关紧门窗，并要求商店在夜间熄灭照明标志。

Leaving doors open while the air conditioning is running can lead to 20 percent more energy consumption, said Agnes Pannier-Runacher, energy transition minister of France.

法国能源转型部长阿格尼斯?潘尼尔?鲁纳彻表示，商店在开空调期间大开门窗可能会导致能源消耗增加20%。

Businesses that break the ban, due to go into effect in the next few days, will face a fine of up to ?750.

该项禁令即将生效，违反的商店将面临高达750欧元（约合人民币5180元）的罚款。

Some cities, like Lyon and Paris, have already had similar municipal rules in place since the middle of July, but now the government wants to expand the initiative to the whole country.

自7月中旬以来，部分城市如里昂和巴黎，已经出台了类似的能源节省规定，但法国政府希望将禁令范围扩大至全国。
