Fifteen-year-old Labrador Charlie Bear had watched his owner, Kelly O'Connell, become an adult.

He managed to be there for one last milestone in her life after contracting a brain tumor. Most people thought Charlie wouldn't live long enough to witness Kelly's wedding.

The faithful dog was found abandoned at 12 weeks old and was adopted by Kelly. Since then, the two have been best friends.

But a few months ago, Kelly learned Charlie was dying; he started having seizures caused by a brain tumor.

Kelly planned to have the dog put to sleep, but suddenly the seizures stopped. Charlie's ability to walk improved.

On the day of the wedding, he made it down the aisle but was too tired to walk back on his own.

"My husband James and I just grabbed onto him, and we just kept saying, 'You made it, buddy, you made it.'" Kelly said.

Eight days after the wedding, Charlie passed away.
婚礼后8天，查理去世了。
Kelly told BuzzFeed she was happy he lived long enough to attend her wedding. She said: "It was a phenomenal moment. It was a phenomenal 15 years."
