Lesson 20 One man in a boat独坐孤舟
Fishing is my favourite sport. I often fish for hours without catching anything. But this does not worry me. Some fishermen are unlucky. Instead of catching fish, they catch old boots and rubbish. I am even less lucky. I never catch anything -- not even old boots. After having spent whole mornings on the river, I always go home with an empty bag. 'You must give up fishing!' my friends say. 'It's a waste of time.' But they don't realize one important thing. I'm not really interested in fishing. I am only interested in sitting in a boat and doing nothing at all!

如:eat->eating;read->reading

without(prep),介词后面一定要加宾语
同样，动词+ing变为名词做宾语
without doing作为状语而出现，表示结果状语
eg:He went out without saying any words.
Without asking for money,the boy went to school.
without后面的动作由主语来做
-ing形式作状语,可以表示时间、原因、结果、条件、让步、行为方式、伴随状况等。如:
Being a teacher, you should help your students in every way.(原因)
He died from a sudden traffic accident, leaving the experiment half-done (so that he left the experiment half-done).(结果)
Seeing my parents waving in the crowd, I went running to them.(时间;方式)
The students entered the classroom, following their English teacher.(伴随)
