As part of measures to boost food safety in the city, authorities have turned to the group of people who have intimate knowledge of what’s happening on the ground – food delivery riders.

为加强食品安全，上海市有关部门向拥有丰富一线知识的人群寻求帮助，这些人就是外卖送餐员。

food delivery riders是外卖送餐员；food safety是食品安全。
周二，上海市宝山区市场监管局聘请了“饿了么”1300名外卖小哥（delivery personnel）担任食品安全监督志愿者。今后在取件配送时，一旦发现店家属于“无证照”经营（do not have business licenses），或在食品处理过程中存在卫生问题（prepare food in unhygienic conditions），外卖小哥可第一时间进行举报（report）。
让送餐员（deliverymen）成为食品安全违规行为（food safety violations）的检举者（whistleblower），这一灵感来源于其他城市发生的事情。
今年7月，河北秦皇岛一名送餐员举报某快餐店（fast food restaurant）的厨房工作条件不卫生（unsanitary working conditions）。
本月初，广东汕头一名外卖小哥到一家麻辣烫店（hot pot restaurant）取餐时，发现店主（owner）孩子赤脚踩在食材肉丸子（meatballs）上面。
