尊敬的英中贸易协会主席沙逊勋爵，女士们、先生们、朋友们：

大家上午好！
It is a real pleasure to join you at the sixth Annual CBBC China Business Conference. This is a grand event for business communities of our two countries. I attach great importance to this event. During previous conferences, I sent video messages to the Conference as I was on official duty in China. But as long as I am here in London, I always attend in person. Today, I am honored to attend this annual conference for the second time. I look forward to joining you to explore opportunities and work out plans for the future of China-UK business cooperation.
很高兴出席第六届中国商业大会。这是英中贸易协会的年会，也是中英企业家的年度盛事。我十分重视这个活动，只要在伦敦就一定会出席，即便因回国开会无法与会，也会发来视频讲话。今天，我很荣幸第二次出席中国商业大会，并期待与大家共谋机遇，共商大计，共创未来。
Lord Sassoon told me, the theme of this year's conference is "China and the UK: A Relationship for a New Era". I believe there is no better theme than this for the Conference at this time. Indeed, new era is the theme of the day. Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. China-UK "Golden Era" has begun a new phase of accelerated development. The world has stepped into a new period of profound and complex changes in the international landscape. In my view, there are three main features that define this new era.
沙逊勋爵告诉我，今年中国商业大会的主题是“走进新时代的中英关系”。我认为，这个主题选得非常好，可谓恰逢其时。当前，中国特色社会主义进入新时代，中英关系“黄金时代”步入快速发展的新时期，当今世界也跨入国际形势深刻复杂变化的新阶段。我认为，这个时代有“三个特点”：
First, this is a new era for China's new journey of development. At the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, The Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was defined, The blueprint for China's future development was outlined, And the direction for the future of the country was identified. Right now, at the sessions of the 13th National People's Congress and the 13th CPPCC National Committee in Beijing, the Constitutional revision has been adopted. Its adoption has confirmed the various goals for the new era outlined at the 19th CPC Congress in the form of the fundamental law of the state.
这是一个中国发展踏上新征程的“新时代”。中共十九大确立了习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想，擘画了中国未来发展的蓝图，指明了国家前进的方向。现在，中国正在召开的“两会”通过修宪以国家根本法确认了十九大确立的新时代各项目标。
In this new era, China will remain committed to the new development philosophy. This means high-quality development. It requires us to put quality first, give priority to efficiency, and advance supply-side structural reform in order to develop a modernized economy and address the problem of unbalanced and inadequate development. China will advance reform and opening-up, and modernize its governance system and capacity. This means deeper economic, financial and social reforms. China will encourage innovation across the country, and make innovation a driving force for our economic growth.
在这个新时代，中国将贯彻新发展理念，大力推动高质量发展，坚持质量第一、效率优先，深入推进供给侧结构性改革，建设现代化经济体系，着力解决发展不平衡不充分问题；中国将加大改革开放，推进国家治理体系和治理能力现代化，深化经济、金融、社会体制等改革，不断推进改革开放事业；中国将加快建设创新型国家，深入实施创新驱动发展战略；
China will put people first in its development. No one will be left behind. The benefits of development will be shared by every Chinese and give people a strong sense of achievement and happiness. China will step up poverty alleviation by focusing on the most needy. The target for 2018 is helping over 10 million rural people out of poverty, and the goal for 2020 is to eliminate poverty in all poor counties and regions, and to help all rural residents living below the current poverty line get rid of poverty. China will pursue green development, strengthen pollution prevention and control, and build a beautiful country with blue sky, green land and clear water.
中国将坚持以人民为中心的发展思想，秉持“一个都不能掉队”的精神，使发展成就更好惠及每一个中国人，增强人民获得感和幸福感；中国将加大精准脱贫力度，2018年将再减少农村贫困人口1000万以上，到2020年实现贫困县全部“摘帽”、农村贫困人口全部脱贫；中国将坚持绿色发展理念，推进污染防治，建设天蓝、地绿、水清的美丽中国。
Second, this is a new era for diverse growth models of various countries. In China, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. This not only contributes to the treasure house of systems and governance experience of mankind. It also blazed a new trail for other developing countries to achieve modernization. In the UK, amid critical Brexit negotiations, the UK is committed to building a "global Britain" as it seeks to reshape its relations with the EU and the world. In this new era, it is all the more important that countries respect each other's social systems and development paths, and respect each other's core interests and major concerns. It is important that countries with different development models could complement each other and strive for common development.
这是一个各国发展百舸争流的新时代。对中国而言，中国特色社会主义进入新时代，不仅丰富了人类的制度宝库、治理宝库，也开辟了发展中国家实现现代化的路径。对英国而言，英国进入脱欧关键谈判期，正致力于打造“全球化英国”，重塑与欧盟、与世界的关系。在这个新时代，各国更应尊重彼此自主选择的社会制度和发展道路，尊重彼此核心利益和重大关切，推动不同发展模式取长补短、相互促进、共同发展。
Third, this is a new era for a new mindset and new ideas. The world is undergoing profound changes and transformation unseen for hundreds of years. Peace and development remains the theme of the times. However, the surging unilateralism and populism, and the emergence of protectionism, even trade wars, are serious causes for concern. In a world where all countries share the same future and common interests, old mindsets such as "zero-sum game", "I win you lose" and "the winner takes all" are outdated and should have been discarded long ago.
这是一个国际社会呼吁新思维新观念的新时代。当今世界正经历百年未有之大变局，处于大发展、大变革、大调整时期。维护和平、促进发展仍然是世界的主旋律，但令人担忧的是，单边主义、民粹主义思潮涌动，保护主义甚至贸易战的烽烟渐起。在各国命运紧密相连、利益高度融合的背景下，“零和思维”、“你输我赢”、“赢者通吃”等旧思维已经不合时宜，早应摒弃。
In this new era, We need to adopt new thoughts and a new mindset. We need to blaze a new path for state-to-state relations, and build a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness, justice and win-win cooperation. We need to build a community with a shared future for mankind. And we aspire for an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world that enjoys lasting peace, universal security and common prosperity.
在这个新时代，我们应秉持新理念新思维，走出一条国与国交往的新路，推动构建相互尊重、公平正义、合作共赢的新型国际关系，构建人类命运共同体，共同建设持久和平、普遍安全、共同繁荣、开放包容、清洁美丽的世界。
