商禽 《灭火机》

愤怒升起来的日午，我凝视着墙上的灭火机。一个小孩走来对我说：“看哪！你的眼睛里有两个灭火机。”我听了这无邪告白；捧着他的双颊，笑，我不禁哭了。我看见有两个我分别在他眼中流泪；他没有再告诉我，在我那些泪珠的鉴照中，有多少个他自己。

Fire Extinguisher
Shang Ch’in

At a furiously rising noon, I gazed deeply at the fire extinguisher on the wall. A small boy came over and said to me, “Look! There are two fire extinguishers in your eyes.” Because of this simple statement, I could not help crying. I saw two me’s shedding tears in his eyes. He did not tell me, in the reflection of these tears, how many him’s were there.
