Candidate 1: As an ordinary person, success means some little achievements, such as entering into the university, passing the final exams of all subjects and so on.My recent success I think is winning in a knowledge tournament named Youth Wisdom with my classmates. The knowledge tournament(知识竞赛) was held by our college's Students' Union(学生会) last term. It was about the coming 2008 Olympic Games. I thought I was good at sport knowledge so I joined the team of my class. I focused on two other parts. I spend much time searching the information of Olympics and learned them in my heart. At the tournament my partners and I all tried our best to accomplish every task. With our efforts and some good luck, finally we won the game and got the prize of 100 yuan.It has been the first prize since I came to the campus. It brings me more confidence. I have achieved not only the prize and the title, but also the belief—nothing is impossible if one tries!

Candidate 2: I make it! Maybe you won't regard it as a success, but I would say it is!In this term, we will study the course of C++. At the beginning, I had difficulty in understanding it. I really didn't know how to make a procedure, and I didn't know how to use function to assemble(汇编) a procedure(程序). It was too hard for me to study C++ several days ago.But now, everything is going smoothly(顺利地). I can make a procedure easily and quickly by myself! Actually I don't know why I can make it, but I think it is my effort that works. So I will study C++ much harder and then become a good boy in C++.
开头颇有气势,Candidate 2,成功之后的满足感和喜悦之情溢于言表。把计算机某一科学上的进步当做一次成功。

Candidate 3: After I entered the university, almost each vacation I would go home. But I didn't during the National Holiday, because I found a part-time job—selling cellphones. The night before the National Day, I was so excited that I couldn't sleep well. And I got up earlier than usual and couldn't wait to do it. When I arrived at that shop, it was half past seven. Before the customers came, we had to clean the shop. The peak of customers'arrival came at about ten clock. The last night I had thought maybe there couldn't be many people buying mobile phones on National Day but in fact there were so many people buying mobile phones on National Day but in fact there were so many people that I couldn't see the floor which amazed me so much. How incredible it was! But unfortunately I hadn't sold one before the lunch. My excitement died out and I was a little depressed. Then a roommate encouraged me that others hadn't sold either and we would succeed in the afternoon. Then I built up my confidence. In the afternoon I was more active than before. I learned from the salesmen and remembered the functions of every mobile phone. I smiled to say hello to every person who came in and tried my best to make myself look kind. Finally I sold one with the help of a salesman. I was too happy to describe my mood. I succeed! I felt proud fo myself and it was a breakthrough for me.
The successful event was important for me because it was my first step to the society. It was a kind of encouragement, which shook off(摆脱,客服) my fear of entering into the society after college. It was also an opportunity for me to aquire some social experience. And it helped me to practice my abilities via communicating with various people and learn some knowledge which we couldn't learn books. What's more, it made me realize that only studying in the college was not encough. We need get out and do something we have never done before.

Candidate 4: One month ago when I saw a poster saying, "Let's make friends with strangers!" I hesitated. I really hoped to know more people, but...I was somewhat shy and had no confidence. However, I signed up at last.
On that Sunday, the special activity was held. We gathered on the playground and were grouped in a way that we didn't know each other in our groups. After a small opening ceremony we began to participate in a series of team games. During that short three hours, we had fun and came to know each other at the same time. At the end of the activity, we wrote down our feelings towards each other. I couldn't wait to read the words they'd left on my paper. What a joy! They rally gave me encouragement.
Well, I think the experience I gained the very day was such a success that to some degree. I understood what social communication was and I got to know more about myself and most importantly, I raised my confidence in dealing with social relationship more or less.

Candidate 5: When I was a sophomore in high school(高二), I took part in an English Speech Competition. As it was the first time that I had given a speech to the public, I felt so nervous that even my voice was trembling(发抖). But suddenly, the efforts I had made to prepare the speech, the encouragement coming from my classmates occured to me. Somehow, I was full of power and guts. "The process is more important than the result." Since I had done my best to do the speech, I would never regret. With those ideas, I calmed down and smiled. Finally, I made it and won the first prize.
That was a tiny but important experience in my life. It shaped my heart, increased my confidence and encouraged me to go on. Now I'm a university student, but every time I walk down the familiar routes on my high school, I find myself doing a lot of soul searching and reminiscing(想象,回忆). I find myself what to start all over again.
I will cherish this experience forever as I reluctantly(不情愿地) close the door on my high school life. Then confidently, I start my new life in the university.
