China's top economic planning body the National Development and Reform Commission or NDRC, has weighed in on the China-US trade war. In response to comments about companies leaving China because of the dispute, the NDRC said it's a small-scale issue and overall manageable. And some mid to low end manufacturing is already moving abroad as China's economic structure shifts to one that's more quality oriented. On the US side against president Trump's wishes, the US trade deficit widened in May by more than forecast to a five-month high when it comes to goods the trade deficit with China wided by 12%. And the Department of Agriculture expects US farm exports to drop by 1.2 billion dollars this year, citing a sharp decline in shipments to China. In the last two months the US manufacturing index was reported at the lowest level since the 2009 financial crisis. Manufacturing output shows signs of shrinking and factory payrolls decline as the trade war with China continues.
