Although there's no public evidence convicting any Chinese tech firms of data theft, signs indicate that Washington's blacklist might still be growing. The New York Times is reporting that the Trump administration is considering Huawei-like sanctions on video surveillance firm Hangzhou Hikvision. The company is one of the world's major video surveillance gear makers with a market value of more than 37 billion US dollars. And the restrictions would limit the company's ability to trade with US tech firms that American companies may have to obtain government approval to supply components to the Chinese company. Aside from Hikvision reports say the US government is also deliberating whether to add security equipment maker to Zhejiang Dahua and some other firms to the blacklist. Well these moves have sparked speculation that the trade friction between the world's leading economies might be heading towards an even more turbulent waters.
