"Do you deny it Mr. Darcy..." She's author of 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'Mansfield Park' and now Jane Austen is getting her own banknote: "I'm here to inform you that Henry Crawford has asked for your hand in marriage."
Exactly 200 years after Jane Austen died, the Bank of England revealing a new ￡10 note, or as it's better known here the tenner, featuring Austen's portrait.

The note itself is thoroughly modern: made of plastic to combat fakes, although that is proved controversial: the choice criticized by vegans because the notes feature traces of animal fat.
