Europe has just witnessed the worst migrant disaster as about 800 migrants died in the Mediterranean as they set off for Italy from Libya.
The International Organisation for Migration says this incident has brought the total death toll to more than 1,750 since the start of the year, more than 30 times higher than the same period of 2014.
The European Union, under mounting pressure to ease a surging migrant crisis, has agreed to triple funding for maritime search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean.
So will the measures be enough to stop the illegal migrants who are desperate to flee the war and violence in their home country?
And how do EU countries respond to the refugee issue?
