LOSE is a verb, which means to fail to win something.
lose是一个动词,意思是无法赢得某物,例如:
They knew they would lose the football game.
他们知道他们将输掉这场球赛。
But it can also mean to have less of something over time.
但它也意指某物随着时间的推移变少了。
LOOSE is usually used as an adjective and means that something is not tight or secure, or not exact.
loose通常作形容词用,意思是某物不紧或不安全或不准确,例如:
LOOSE CLOTHING = not tight
宽松的衣服=不紧
LOOSE TRANSLATION = not exact translation
翻译粗糙=翻译不准确

COMPLEMENT as a noun is something that completes something else.
complement作名词用时,意思是完善他物的某物;
As a verb, you add to something to improve it.
作动词用时,意思是加上某物以改善它,例如:
A pearl necklace complements a nice dress.
一条珍珠项链很好的衬托出了这条漂亮的裙子。
A COMPLIMENT is a polite expression of praise or admiration.
compliment是赞赏的礼貌表达。
Please keep the two parrots apart. (adjective)
请将这两只鹦鹉分开。(形容词)
The new parrot became a part of the family. (noun)
这只新生的鹦鹉成了家庭的一份子。(名词)
APART as one word is an adjective. It means to be separated.
apart作为一个词是形容词性,意思是被分开;
But A PART is a noun. It means to be some, but not all of something. It is usually followed by "of." A PART OF
但a part是名词,意思是成为某物的一部分而不是全部,通常接of,组成词组a part of。
