Jingjing: Hey, Mark, did you get your report done for school? Hey! Mark! Yoo hoo! Can you hear me?
京晶：嘿，马克，你学校的报告做好了么？嘿！马克！当当当！你能听到我说话吗？
Mark: Oh, hey, Jingjing. Sorry, did you say something? I had my headphones on. I was just jamming to some music.
马克：哦，嘿，京晶。对不起，你刚才说什么？我刚戴着耳机听音乐来着。
Jingjing: Yeah, I can see that. I asked you if you got your report done.
京晶：嗯，我看到了。我是要问你，你学校的报告做好了没。
Mark: The report? Oh that ...No I haven't started it yet.

Jingjing: I don't know why I keep bugging you about it. I've told you several times but it's like water off a duck's back. Anyways,what genre of music do you listen to?

Mark: I listen to all kinds of music, but lately I've been listening to a lot of oldies.

Jingjing: Really? I love oldies! What era do you like?

Mark: Well, I like music from the 60's, like The Beach Boys. They were formed in 1961 and are responsible for the surf craze.
马克：我喜欢六十年代的，像海滩男孩的音乐。他们成立于1961年，就是他们引起的冲浪热潮。
Jingjing: Yeah, they are a great band to listen to, especially during the summer. I personally am a fan of The Monkees. They were formed a few years later in 1965. Did you know that they invented the television music video?

Jingjing: Finally! I've been trying to get in touch with you the whole day. I called you five times today but you didn't answer. What were you doing?

Mark: Sorry! I was hanging out with Steve and Bill. I'm just trying to be a good friend to them too and spend time with them.

Jingjing: What? I thought I was your best friend. You know what they say: a friend to all is a friend to none. If you try to please everyone, then no one will feel special.
