and now the world has over 2 billion people doing those things every day

That proves it. The world has changed a lot since I graduated

The acceleration of technological progress is unmatched in our history

And it's not going to slow down

It's only going to speed up

So I want to share a few stories, 3 stories from my life

I joined Google during the height of the first .com boom in the late 1990s

Now I know this seems like ancient time to you guys

but it really was not that long ago

At the time, I was newly married

and my husband and I decided to buy a house which was a huge decision

We could barely afford the mortgage

So we decided we would rent part of our house and the garage
